State Voter ID Amendment Discussed In House Session Today

The State House of Representatives will discuss the Voter ID amendment today at the Capitol.  At issue is a proposed amendment to the State Constitution setting new rules for residents to show proof of identification at polling places.

Dave Lee talked with Associated Press Capitol beat reporter Pat Condon about the amendment Tuesday morning on WCCO Radio.

    This is a blatant attempt by “freedom loving republicans” to prevent minorities from voting. Fact: Most voter fraud is committed by election officials not the voting public.

    I don’t have a problem with showing my ID. However if some people can’t afford an ID, maybe the state should provide a free ID, to senior citizens or people on SS. Maybe the government should provide official IDs to citizens, anyway.

    the only thing the liberal democrats are afraid of is the fact they can’t vote more than a couple hundred times a peice and stuff.
