OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without two of their top four scorers Friday night against Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City.
Coach Rick Adelman said forward Michael Beasley is expected to miss his third game in the last eight days because of a sprained big toe on his left foot. Center Nikola Pekovic was not with the team because of a sore left ankle.
Pekovic is second on the team with 13.5 points per game. Beasley is tied for third, averaging 11.5.
Beasley missed games against Utah and the Los Angeles Lakers earlier during the Timberwolves’ seven-game road trip. Minnesota, which is also without point guard Ricky Rubio for the rest of the season, lost both of those games.
Pekovic was hurt in a loss Wednesday night at San Antonio.
