MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say one person got out safely and was not hurt after a house fire early Saturday morning in northwestern Minnesota.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a house fire at about 12:45 a.m. on the 4000 block of County Road 11 in Carlos Township, which is near Alexandria. When fire crews arrived, there were flames visible from inside the residence.

The homeowner was the only person home at the time of the fire, authorities said. He got out safely, but the house suffered extensive damage.

Authorities are still investigating what may have caused the fire.

Excuse me, but I don’t think Alexandria is considered northwestern Minnesota. Maybe by Minneapolis people but look at your map of Minnesota sometime.
