Body Found In Mississippi River ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The body two boys found in the Mississippi River Saturday morning has been identified, authorities said.

St. Paul police said the boys found 52-year-old David Wandtke, of St. Paul. Wandtke had been reported missing since Feb. 14.

At the moment, there is nothing suspicious connected with Wandtke's death, police said.

The boys found Wandtke near the area of Joy Avenue and Water Street West.

Sgt. Paul Paulos said the body was located near a main railroad trestle by the Union Pacific railroad bridge. The kids who discovered the body quickly told railroad workers, who then called police.
