MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s not your grandmother’s Pillsbury Bake-Off anymore.

Entertainment diva Martha Stewart announced the winner of the 45th annual Bake-Off.

A Pennsylvania woman won $1 million for her dessert recipe.

It’s been more than a decade since Minneapolis-based Pillsbury was acquired by crosstown rival General Mills.

But Twin Cities food critic Sue Zelickson, who attended the Bake-Off in Orlando, says the Pillsbury brand is alive and well.

“The Pillsbury Doughboy — they put him to rest for a while. But he’s here, big and strong, and even Martha (Stewart) took pictures with him. So he’s alive and well — and so is the company,” she said.

This year’s contest attracted 10,000 applicants. A hundred contestants took part in the final Bake-Off.
