Partly for safety reasons, permits are required to hunt for fossils at a St. Paul park where a rockslide killed a fourth-grader on a field trip, left one missing and injured two others. St. Paul requires applicants to sign a waiver releasing the city from any liability for injuries or property damage.

Authorities said several tips led to the arrest late Wednesday night of two people in connection with the robbery of a Hastings gas station on May 22. Hastings Police arrested 27-year-old Joseph Robert Olson and 31-year-old Jacquelyn Irene Keehn in connection with the case.

A St. Louis Park elementary school is making counselors available to students, parents and staff after a field trip to a St. Paul park turned tragic. Fourth-graders from Peter Hobart Elementary School were visiting Lilydale Regional Park on the bluffs of the Mississippi River on Wednesday when rain-soaked gravel gave way.
