MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Newt Gingrich is set to stop in northeastern Wisconsin as he tries to resuscitate his flagging presidential campaign ahead of the state’s primary next week.

Gingrich plans to attend a noon rally Friday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, visit his Green Bay campaign office and attend a late-afternoon rally at a Green Bay restaurant.

Wisconsin’s presidential primary is set for Tuesday.

But Gingrich is struggling. He has won just two primaries, in South Carolina and Georgia, and has laid off a third of his campaign staff.

He has adopted a new strategy that calls for spending less time in primary states and more time trying to persuade delegates to back him at the Republican National Convention.

I don’t really understand why you cover Newt Gingrich as he’s losing in the polls and losing money and losing attendees, but you don’t cover Ron Paul as he’s losing in the polls but mysteriously outnumbering every other candidate in event attendance and still meeting fundraising goals! That story sounds more interesting to me than some washed up politician.

Why is this man wasting money on a losing cause. Donate it to a food shelf where it will actually do some good other than feed an inflated ego
