Vikings Sign Ex-Charger WR Bryan Walters

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have been making plenty of moves this offseason. They're just not the kind of transactions that bring much attention.

The Vikings added to their list of low-profile free agent additions on Monday by signing wide receiver Bryan Walters. He played in college at Cornell and spent the last two years with the San Diego Chargers. He appeared in four games last season.

With general manager Rick Spielman now in charge of the roster, the Vikings have been gradually filling holes at several positions. But their unwillingness to shell out big money for top-tier free agents has fit with the philosophy Spielman has espoused all along.

The draft is where the primary focus is, and that means fans will have to be patient with the rebuilding process.
