Motorcyclist Dies In Polk County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a pick-up truck in Polk County.

The Polk County Dispatch Center received a report of a motorcycle colliding with a pick-up truck around 12 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of State Highway 35, just south of the village of Dresser in Osceola Township.

A 1998 Suzuki GSX750 motorcycle was southbound on Highway 35, went around a corner, crossed over the center line and struck an oncoming 1997 Chevrolet K1500 pick-up truck.

The motorcyclist did not have a driver's license or motorcycle endorsement. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The victim's name is not being released until family can be notified.

The crash remains under investigation. This is the second traffic fatality in two days within Polk County. On Monday, a truck and semi collided.
