1 Arrested, 2 At Large After Chase In Wisconsin

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police say one suspect has been arrested and at least two others are still at large after a high speed chase near Osceola, Wis., Tuesday night.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said the incident started at about 11:16 p.m. when a 2002 Chevy Trail Blazer was stopped for a traffic violation. When authorities approached the vehicle, it sped off and a chase ensued.

The suspect vehicle traveled northbound on Highway 35 and was driving recklessly in the wrong lanes of traffic, police said. Authorities deployed tire spikes, which the driver was able to avoid. The high speed chase eventually ended in a farm field, and the suspects inside the vehicle ran into a large wooded area.

One was taken into custody, but two other suspects were not located.

Police say the chase lasted about 41 minutes, covered 53 miles and reached speeds of up to 90 miles per hour. Items were also thrown out of the suspect vehicle during the chase, including a spare tire and a full tool box. Police also located a loaded handgun inside the vehicle.

Tanya St. John, 22 of Hinckley, Minn., was arrested and taken into custody. Police said the incident is still under investigation.
