Chisholm Man Gets 40 1/2 Years In Bar Shooting

HIBBING, Minn. (AP) — A Chisholm man has been sentenced to 40 1/2 years in prison for killing one man and injuring two others in front of his ex-wife.

Forty-nine-year-old Jason M. Musburger appeared Thursday before Judge Mark M. Starr.

Prosecutors say Musburger walked into Jim’s Sports Bar & Grill in Chisholm with two fully-loaded handguns in March 2010 and shot three men seated at a table with his ex-wife. Edward Walberg was killed. Cale Nelson and Larry Elj were injured.

Several of Walberg’s relatives asked Starr to impose a life sentence.

Musburger told the court he never intended to hurt anyone and that he had gone to the bar to commit suicide. He apologized to the victims, their families and the community.

With good behavior, Musberger could be released when he’s about 74.

  • Thinking ahead

Christ all mighty – the dork can’t even commit suicide. Let me help all you other freaks out there with this problem: 1) Load gun with real bullets. 2) hold gun to head, with muzzle pointing directly at your temple. 3) Pull trigger. There – now the rest of us truly feel a LOT better.

But unfortunately, ya can’t fix stupid. So, pack your CCW and make a difference for the better – just say yes…

Life is hard…It can be real hard if your stupid. Now he gets to spend some real quality time at MCF Stillwater with my former co-workers. Man oh man…it there is just one piece of advise I can give is this…Don’t do anything that will get sent to prison, you will live to regret it. Everyone grows old and everything changes outside those walls. But inside, it’s the same old place it was a hundred years ago. Time almost stands still. 40 1/2 years is a loooooong time to be staring at those walls.
