UPLAND, Ind. (AP) — Taylor University officials say a 21-year-old student from Minnesota has died in an apparent accident on the northeastern Indiana campus.
School spokesman Jim Garringer said Josh Larkin was found dead in his dorm room by another student Wednesday evening in Upland about 50 miles south of Fort Wayne.
He says the Grant County coroner told Taylor officials that preliminary autopsy findings indicate Larkin’s death was accidental, but it’s unclear what sort of accident may have killed him.
Larkin was a third-year student from Excelsior, Minn., who was majoring in media communications and played trumpet in a campus ensemble. Garringer says Larkin was an outgoing and “very well-loved” student.
The evangelical Christian liberal arts school with about 2,000 students held a prayer service Wednesday night for Larkin.
