Best Of MN: Best Public Golf Course

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minnesota has the most golfers per capita of any state in the country, so it only makes sense to check out what Minnesotans think is the best place to play in the state.

For his weekly Best of Minnesota segment, WCCO-TV’s Matt Brickman sought your votes for the best public golf course in Minnesota. It was one of his most popular and closest votes yet. Your votes took him to Deer Run in Victoria.

    Theodore WIrth golf course has a great layout and the best views of any city course.

    It’s too bad John Munger is trying to take it over and move holes around so a small group of skiers can ski where ever they want.

    Note:
    Skiers pay $50 for a yearly pass.
    Golfer pay $50 for ONE round (with cart).

    It is a nice course but there are at least 2 dozen public courses that are better, more challenging, and far cheaper than Deer Run. (And that’s a shame for me because I live less than 5 minutes from there)
