Father Accused Of Stomping Toddler Arrested
COON RAPIDS, Minn. (AP/WCCO) -- Authorities say they've caught up with a man accused of repeatedly stomping on the head of his 2-year-old child and assaulting the toddler's mother in Coon Rapids.
The mother called police last Saturday to report the abuse that she said occurred at the Inn Town Suites.
The woman told investigators the toddler was lying prone on the floor when the father stomped on the child's head three or four times.
The toddler was taken to the hospital. The father fled.
Coon Rapids police said Wednesday the suspect -- 24-year-old Deryl Edward Young Jr. -- has been located and is in custody at the Anoka County Jail.
