MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A popular Minneapolis music event has become too popular, its host says.
The Pizza Lucé Block Party has been cancelled because it has outgrown its venue, the restaurant said in a press release. Last year’s party brought more people than the neighborhood could handle, so the search is now on for a new location for the 2013 block party.
Corey Sax, the restaurant’s marketing manager, said Pizza Lucé did not come to the decision to cancel lightly.
The traditional party has been held outside the restaurant’s 3200 Lyndale Avenue location. Since 2003, the event has supported local music and supplied party-goers with a consistent source of summer fun.
Sax said the restaurant is looking for community partners.
