MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials with Best Buy announced Saturday that 42 more stores are closing nation-wide, and one of them is in Minnesota.
The Best Buy location in Rochester will close as early as May 12. Store employees were given the news on Saturday. It’s the Rochester South location on 4540 Maine Avenue SE.
Other Minnesota locations closing include Edina, Rogers, Hutchinson, Brooklyn Center and Lakeville. Officials said they will work with employees affected by the store closings to try and find other jobs within Best Buy.
If employees don’t find new jobs or choose not to work at a different location, they will be offered severance packages from the company.
On Tuesday, Best Buy said CEO Brian Dunn had resigned after the board of directors began investigating his “personal conduct.”
