Man Arrested In Connection To Rochester Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 22-year-old man is behind bars in connection with the homicide of a 47-year-old man in Rochester.

Police said they found the body of David Alan Biester, of Rochester, a little after 9 p.m. Sunday. Cpt. Brian Winters said a 50-year-old motorcyclist initially found Biester after he parked his bike in a parking lot on the 2100 block of 9th Street Northeast.

Investigators say blunt force trauma appeared to have caused his death.

The motorcyclist told police he saw a car leaving the parking lot before he found Biester. Authorities described the car as a dark (possibly red) passenger car with brighter than normal headlights. Witnesses also reported seeing Biester with a black man at a convenience store, which was confirmed by surveillance video.

Anthony Deshawn Jones, of Rochester, was arrested in connection with the crime and is currently in custody at the Olmstead County Detention Center. Police say surveillance video from the convenience store helped them track down and arrest Jones.

During a search warrant, police found clothes matching what Jones was wearing the night of the homicide, with blood stains. They also found blood in the passenger compartment of his vehicle.

Homicide charges are pending.
