Man Charged In Stabbing Death Of Oakdale Woman

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 44-year-old St. Paul man was indicted on a pair of murder charges Friday in connection with the Dec. 27, 2011, stabbing death of an Oakdale woman.

Thomas James Fox was indicted in Washington County Court with first-degree premeditated murder and first-degree intentional murder during the course of an aggravated robbery in connection with the death of Lori Christine Baker.

Authorities found Baker dead in her apartment on the 6200 block of 12th Street South in Oakdale at about 10 a.m. on Dec. 27, 2011. Police say she had been stabbed multiple times.

Baker was a nanny and her employer called police after she didn't show up for work. When they arrived, they found her lying on the bedroom floor of her apartment covered in blood.

Authorities say Fox knew Baker, but haven't said exactly how. Fox is currently in the Washington County jail and has his next court appearance set for May 3.
