TOIVOLA, Minn. (AP) — Two Hibbing teenagers have died in a rollover crash in St. Louis County of northeastern Minnesota.
The St. Louis County sheriff’s office late Sunday identified the victims as Lindsey Gonzalez and Kelsey Perkins, both 17. The teens were traveling southbound on Highway 5 just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday when the 1997 Plymouth Breeze left the road, rolled over and landed in a creek near Toivola, the sheriff’s office said.
Both teens died at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
The crash happened about 20 miles south of Hibbing, and about 45 miles northwest of Duluth.
