Authorities ID Pair Killed In Northern MN Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified two people who were found dead after a house fire in northern Minnesota on Monday.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office identified the two victims as 56-year-old Kenneth Alan Ponsness and 57-year-old Kathleen Marie Ponsness. Authorities said both were residents of the home on the 10000 block of Tranquil Road in Lake Edward Township.

Authorities responded to a report of a fire at about 10:36 a.m. at the residence. When they arrived, they found the two dead inside the home.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office said the cause of the fire remains under investigation. They were assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the State Fire Marshal's Office as well as several fire departments.
