1 Killed, 3 Hurt In Mahnomen County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating what caused a fatality crash in northwestern Minnesota Wednesday morning.

Eric Roeske with the State Patrol said one person was killed and at least three others were injured after a two vehicle crash in Mahnomen County. The accident happened at about 8:13 a.m. on Highway 59 and 250th Street near the town of Richwood, which is north and east of Detroit Lakes.

The State Patrol said a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix was driving southbound on Highway 59 when it broad-sided a 2004 Honda CR-V at 250th Street. The driver of the Grand Prix, identified as 53-year-old Kathy Jo Ose of Mahnomen, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda CR-V, a 38-year-old Mahnomen man, and two young boys, were all transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Mahnomen County Sheriff's Office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol at the scene.
