3rd Day Of Deliberations Resume In Senser Trial

MINNEAPOLIS (AP/WCCO) -- Jurors arrived early Thursday to resume deliberations in the vehicular homicide trial of Amy Senser, the wife of ex-Minnesota Viking Joe Senser.

The jury arrived at about 8:15 a.m., compared to the post-9:30 a.m. start time from Wednesday, which was reportedly due to issues with transporting the jurors from their hotel to the courtroom.

Thursday marks the third day of deliberations in the trial.

The jury recessed around 7 p.m. Wednesday after nearly 13 hours of deliberations that began Tuesday and were sequestered for another night. Jurors asked no questions of the judge Wednesday.

Amy Senser is charged with three felony counts of criminal vehicular homicide and one misdemeanor count of careless driving in the Aug. 23 death of Anousone Phanthavong.

Prosecutors say she had to have known she struck the Roseville man as he stood beside his stalled car on a Minneapolis freeway ramp. Senser says she had no idea she hit him until much later.
