WASHINGTON (WCCO) – Sen. Amy Klobuchar is cracking down on a topic that caused outrage on social media sites recently.
Klobuchar is planning to co-sponsor a federal bill that would prohibit employers from asking for Facebook passwords.
Klobuchar says a similar ban just passed in Maryland. Similar legislation has been introduced in Minnesota.
There will be an announcement at a Twin Cities computer store Thursday morning.
Other legislators attached to the bill are Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York and Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut.
