MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An incident at the Gay 90's left one woman with 100 stitches after a man allegedly smashed a wine glass in her face.

Police say they were dispatched to the bar around 2:30 a.m. April 22 and found the woman with multiple cuts and covered in blood. A witness said a man tried to enter the women's bathroom at the bar and when the woman didn't let him, he smashed a wine glass in her face.

As a result of her injuries, the woman received 100 stitches and will need plastic surgery to repair her face.

Twenty-six-year-old Van Travis Bailey has been charged with first-degree assault in the incident. He is currently at the Hennepin County Jail on another offense.
