MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 59-year-old Barron, Wis., man was killed in a head-on crash Thursday afternoon in northwestern Wisconsin, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities responded to the crash at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Village of Clear Lake. When authorities arrived to the scene, they learned Terry Barber was driving a 1998 Ford Windstar van northbound on Highway 63 when the vehicle crossed over into the southbound lane of traffic and hit a 2002 Chevy Vision head-on.
Barber was pronounced dead at the scene, and an 80-year-old Bemidji man had to be extricated from his vehicle and transported to Amery Regional Medical Center, authorities said.
A 29-year-old woman in Barber’s vehicle was also taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.
