SHAKOPEE, Minn. (WCCO) — Family and friends paid tribute Sunday to a Minnesota family shaken by a deadly traffic accident.

Five member of the Kerber family from Jordan were killed on April 1, 2012 when their motor home veered off a Kansas road. In all, 13 people were hurt in the accident.

The family held a memorial service for them in Shakopee at Friendship Church.

The family asked WCCO-TV to respect their privacy during the ceremony, and we honored their wishes.

Afterwards, this message was posted on the family’s memorial page on Facebook:

“As anyone can imagine, there were no dry eyes for the 1200 people that attended. The words from the pastor were comforting as were the words spoken by various family members.”
