HUXLEY, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say no one was injured when a semitrailer hauling pudding cups caught on fire on Interstate 35 in central Iowa.

The accident happened Tuesday afternoon in the southbound lanes near the Huxley exit about 8 miles south of Ames. Pudding cups littered the interstate and both southbound lanes were blocked for over an hour as crews cleaned up the scene.

The driver told authorities that he saw the trailer on fire and pulled over. He was able to detach the cab and pull it to safety.

Sgt. Rick Schaaf of the Iowa State Patrol says the driver thinks a tire caught on fire.
