GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Fargo-based lingerie and adult toy store that was barred from opening in Grand Forks has now run into trouble in neighboring East Grand Forks, Minn.

Fantasy’s wanted to operate in Grand Forks in a building a block away from an elementary school. Grand Forks leaders in response decided to restrict where sexually oriented businesses could operate.

Fantasy’s on Monday opened for business in East Grand Forks, within a few blocks of a school and a church. City officials shut down the business on Tuesday for opening without city approval. City Administrator Scott Huizenga says the business “moved in under the cover of darkness.”

Owners Jim and Kim Patterson are consulting with their lawyers.
