ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Police are investigating after the daughter of a state lawmaker was grazed by a gunshot outside her home in St. Paul on Thursday.

Sgt. Paul Palos with the St. Paul Police Department said the incident happened just before 6 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Dale Street and Aurora Avenue. The victim, 19-year-old Diamond Moran, was taken to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they don’t believe the shooting was random, but they also don’t believe the victim was the intended target. Diamond Moran is the daughter of Rep. Rena Moran.

Police don’t have any further details and said the incident is still under investigation.
