LAKE EDWARD TOWNSHIP (WCCO) — The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office says a deadly house fire in Lake Edward Township was a murder-suicide.

At approximately 10:36 p.m. on April 30, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a fire on 10526 Tranquil Road. Authorities found two unidentified bodies inside the house.

The bodies were later identified as Kenneth Alan Ponsness, 56, and Kathleen Marie Ponsness, 57.

Then, on Tuesday, it was determined by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner that Kathleen was killed and Kenneth took his life.

The investigation continues.
