ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The interim president of Minnesota State Community and Technical College has been named to the permanent position.

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees appointed Peggy Kennedy president of MSCTC on Wednesday.

Kennedy has been interim president since last July. Her appointment takes effect Thursday.

Kennedy previously served as vice president of academic affairs and student development, and dean for business and general education programs at Saint Paul College.

Minnesota State Community and Technical College has campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena. The school had more than 9,200 students last year.
