MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A memorial service will be held Wednesday for a Minnesota solider killed while in the line of duty.

Nick Dickhut, a 23-year-old Sergeant from Rochester, died last month while battling enemy forces in Afghanistan. Dickhut had been stationed in Fort Lewis, Wash.

Officials said Dickhut’s memorial service will be held Wednesday at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, which is  a military base located southwest of Tacoma, Wash. Before his tour of duty in Afghanistan, Dickhut served in Iraq in 2009.
