4-Year-Old Victim Making Progress

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The 4-year-old victim of a motorcycle hit and run is making progress at Gillette's Children's Hospital in St. Paul.

Tyrell Baymon, who suffered a fractured skull and broken ribs from the accident last Saturday, had his neck brace removed Monday night, according to his uncle Dennis Scroggins.

Scroggins says that Tyrell is still heavily sedated, but is responding to them via hand squeezes when they talk to him.

The man who struck Tyrell, 25-year-old Ernest Travis Jonas, was arrested on Sunday without incident in a Shakopee hotel room.

Jonas did not have a valid license, which had been revoked for speeding tickets.

He is currently being held at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center.

You can contribute to a fund for Tyrell Baymon at any Wells Fargo Bank.
