Rubio, Williams Named To NBA All-Rookie Teams

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Ricky Rubio didn’t quite land Rookie of the Year honors, but he did earn a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Team.

The Minnesota Timberwolves guard was chosen from votes placed by the NBA’s 30 head coaches, who were asked to select five players for the first team.

They were also asked to choose five players for the second team. The Timberwolves’ forward Derrick Williams was selected for that line-up.

Rubio, who was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month for the month of January, follows Pooh Richardson, Christian Laettner, Isaiah Rider, Stephon Marbury, Wally Szczerbiak, and Randy Foye to earn first team honors from a rookie season in Minnesota.
