MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The University of St. Thomas baseball team is heading to its fifth Division-III College World Series.
The Tommies begin play on Friday afternoon in the double-elimination tournament in Appleton, Wis. This year’s team has an impressive pitching staff that’s helped pave the road to the series – the Tommies’ top three pitchers are 28- 3 and have an ERA under 2.
And for senior pitcher Bryce Gapinki, he’s hoping for a bit of déjà vu.
“We were fortunate to win it my freshman year,” Gapinski said. “And I think we have the talent to come back and win it again. It’d be the perfect ending – win in it my freshman year, and come back and win it my senior year.”
