Saints Get One Step Closer To New Ballpark
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- The St. Paul Saints are another step closer to getting a new ballpark.
The city's Port Authority signed a $1.85 million agreement on Tuesday for an empty warehouse in the Lowertown area. It's been considered as a good site for a new stadium for the minor league team.
The Saints current ballpark, Midway Stadium off Energy Park Drive, is 30 years old and the team says it's time for an update.
The Saints released an illustration of the proposed new ballpark. They say it would hold about 7,500 fans and total costs to build would be around $47 million.
