MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Twin Cities are soaked with wet weather as storms brought more than three inches to the metro area.

Even more fell where Kent Peterson lives in Wright County, west of the Twin Cities.

“This (rain gauge) was overflowing this morning and so this was probably at 6 1/2 inches this morning,” he said. “I dumped this one and it’s been almost full twice.”

About 4 3/4 inches have fallen in Wright County and much of Minnesota remains under a flood watch. A mudslide on I-694 in Arden Hills created a traffic jam today and more rain is expected. Anoka County saw 5 1/2 inches over a 24-hour period.

“Holy smokes,” Peterson said. “It’d be nice if it quit.”
