MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Isanti County Sergeant Chris Caulk says someone stole dozens of bronze star markers from the graves of troops.
He said Tuesday they were taken from three different cemeteries, probably by someone who wanted to make some quick money.
The loss is difficult for the families of those veterans.
“What’s happening here is that we have individuals that have served our country, have died for this country and now are being victimized even after they’ve been deceased,” Caulk said.

Caulk said they are asking for help trying to locate the markers. He said if recycling center employees see them, they are asked to call police.
He also said that someone reported seeing two men, one older and one younger, stealing the markers. He said they drove away in a blue pick-up truck.
