MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Nine college students are biking across the country in an effort to raise awareness and money for Alzheimer’s research and support.
Last Friday, the Western Kentucky University students began their ride, called Bike4Alz, in International Falls, Minn. and will hit 13 major metropolitan areas on their way to Key West, Fla.
According to Bike4Alz, their three main goals are to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease and its effects, inspire others to make a difference in their community and raise $175,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
The students and supporters will hold a “Road Block” on Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis, near Whitey’s Salon.
