Man Killed In Stearns County Farm Accident ID’d

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 74-year-old man was killed Tuesday after a farming accident in Melrose Township, according to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities responded to the accident on the 36000 block of County Road 186 early Tuesday night. When they arrived, they discovered the man was working on a rock wagon when he was pinned between the frame and box.

Officials with the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office pronounced the man dead at the scene. He was later identified as Alberg Joseph Meyer, of Sauk Centre.

Authorities said the accident happened sometime between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Melrose Police and the Melrose Fire Department.
