ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Former President Bill Clinton will be the headline speaker for a Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party dinner in August.
Party officials on Thursday announced Clinton’s commitment to address the first Humphrey-Mondale Dinner, named for Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale. The two party stalwarts rose to the office of vice president during their careers but both also fell shy of winning the presidency in their own right.
This is the first year that Mondale is on the marquee. The dinner was formerly called the Hubert H. Humphrey Day Dinner.
The Aug. 4 dinner at the Minneapolis Convention Center doubles as a major fundraiser for the party. Tickets range from $125 to $5,000.
