ROSEVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) – A 65-year-old man is dead after crossing the center line of County Road B2 in Roseville and colliding head-on with a school bus.

Roseville Police said there were no children aboard the school bus at the time of the crash, which occurred around 6:38 a.m. Wednesday on the 900 block of County Road B2.

The bus driver was not injured. Police say at the time of the crash, the bus driver was just beginning his route to pick up children attending St. Rose of Lima Catholic School. The 45-year-old driver, of Little Canada, is cooperating with police.

The victim was identified as Michael Hummel of Roseville. Police say they don’t know what caused him to cross the center line and collide with the school bus.

The preliminary investigation doesn’t indicate speed or alcohol as a contributing factor.
