MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The inventor of the next big “As seen on TV” product could be in the Twin Cities this morning.

The TeleBrands Inventors Day is being held in downtown Minneapolis Wednesday for their “Pitch-A-Thon,” where locally-made gadgets and gizmos have the chance to be the next big thing.

Promoters pegged the competition as part “American Idol,” part “The Apprentice.”

Minnesota is but one of the stops being made in the search for the next must-have consumer novelty. There were also planned stops at Nevada, Illinois, Louisiana, California, South Dakota, Connecticut, and New York.

Chris Stanford stopped at the Hyatt Wednesday morning to talk with AJ Khubani, founder of Telebrands Corp.

See their conversation in the video above.
