Meet The Minn. Pig 'Colbert Report' Made Famous

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Meet the little piggy that could, Hamlet. In the last few days, he has become an Internet star.

The YouTube video featuring the pig has over 1.3 million views. And last night, much to his owner's surprise, Hamlet was featured on Comedy Central's "Colbert Report."

But like most celebrities these days, Hamlet does not want to be touched. He likes his space and his food.

Owner Katy Morlok said she's never found anything he won't eat.

Just a couple of years ago, Hamlet was just a 6-week-old piglet trying to make his way in the world. He was a graduation gift from Morlok's husband, Ryan.

Morlok was thrilled, but her mom wasn't

"She loves the pig now, but, you know, she wants a grand-baby, not a grand-pig," Morlok said.

Hamlet's become a part of the family since then, earning his keep and even learning a few tricks. But after Stephen Colbert gave him a shout out Thursday night, the pig's true colors have come through.

"He's such a diva," Morlok said. "His head is exploding."

In Hamlet's defense, he hasn't yet forgotten what got him his fame: stairs and oatmeal. And after some negotiating, we got him to perform his biggest hit. (Watch it in the video above.)

If this wasn't enough Hamlet for you, he and his owners will be featured on an episode of Animal Planet's "Bad Dog" on July 7.
