Mike Binkley's Bike Stolen On Bike To Work Day

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A lot of people enjoyed this week's "Bike Walk To Work" Day, but WCCO anchor Mike Binkley was not among them.

That's because his bicycle was stolen from right outside the WCCO-TV studios after he rode it in on Thursday.

Binkley parked his bicycle at the station's bike rack along Marquette Avenue, but at some point while he was at work that morning, someone stole the bicycle.

Binkley says he used a cable lock to secure it to the bike rack, but said he believes now those are too easy to cut off.

He said a combination of a cable lock and one of those thicker, U-shaped locks they have available would've been a better option. That way, you can still string the cable through various parts of the bike and the rack, but also have extra security.

Binkley's bicycle is a silver and blue Trek model 2.1C with a rack over the back tire, so if you see someone trying to sell it, contact him here.
