WASHINGTON, D.C. (WCCO) – President Obama is taking heat on the economy from Republican Representative Erik Paulsen.
Paulsen delivered this week’s G.O.P. address, focusing on how Obama and Congress are once again locked in a fierce debate over the economy. Paulsen also speculated on who’s hurting the economy, and how to fix it.
“…the unemployment rate is 8.2 percent – far above the level the Obama administration promised it would be by now,” said Paulsen
But the president points to Congress for not acting.
“That’s why a critical part of the jobs bill that I sent to Congress back in September was to help states prevent even more layoffs and rehire even more teachers who had lost their jobs,” said Obama. “But months later, we’re still waiting on Congress to act.”
Despite determining who’s to blame, the latest jobs report isn’t good.
The US Department of Labor reports only 69 thousand jobs were added last month – just half of what was expected.
