Boy Pulled From Lake Superior Dies

DULUTH, Minn (WCCO) -- The 13-year old boy pulled out of Lake Superior on Monday after nearly drowning has passed away, according to KDLH in Duluth.

Jeffrey Carlos Watson, 13, died at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis at 3:49 p.m. on Tuesday after he was transported from St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, KDLH reported.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, the boy had been swimming with a group on Monday for about 20 minutes before he went under the water and didn't resurface.

Members of the Duluth Fire Department recovered the boy near Uncle Harvey's Mausoleum by the boardwalk.
