MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Some observant citizens at a Lake Elmo restaurant are being credited with locating a missing 15-year-old girl.

Lakeville Police say 15-year-old Melanie Davy, and her 38-year-old father Shon Davy, were spotted leaving the bathroom at the restaurant Thursday morning.

The State Patrol showed up, and took the two into custody around 7:30 a.m.

The girl hadn’t been seen since Monday, when Shon Davy failed to return her from a scheduled visit. There was concern for Melanie’s safety, as Shon Davy has a criminal history and severe medical issues.

Melanie was apparently in good shape, and returned to her mother. Shon Davy was taken into custody, where he is awaiting charges of Deprivation of Parental Rights.
