Twins Recall Pitcher Oliveros From AAA Rochester
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Twins announced after losing 9-8 to the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday night that they are recalling pitcher Lester Oliveros from Triple-A Rochester.
The move was announced after P.J. Walters went down with an arm injury during the first inning of Wednesday night's game. Walters faced five batters, retiring none and allowing two runs, before being taken off the field by the Twins' training staff.
In 12 games for the Rochester Red Wings, Oliveros is 1-1 with a 4.08 earned run average. Twins officials said a corresponding move will be made before Thursday night's game to make room for Oliveros on the 25-man roster.
