Minnesota Women Veterans Day Celebrated In Prior Lake

PRIOR LAKE, Minn. (WCCO) — Minnesota women who have served their country are being honored today.

Bagpipes played “America” at The Wilds Golf Course in Prior Lake on Monday.

A ceremony was held there after Gov. Mark Dayton declared this Minnesota Women Veterans Day.

Retired Army Lt. Col. Barb O’Reilly says the proclamation encourages people to support women who are currently serving.

More than 23,000 Minnesota women have served in the military.
